Bollywood star Akshay Kumar is back doing what he does best, comedy. The actor currently has a slew of films lined up, but right now, he is busy promoting Welcome to the Jungle, which boasts a massive ensemble cast of over 30 to 40 actors. While the film is currently in post-production, Akshay has been dropping one banger song after another to keep the buzz alive.
After releasing the title track of Welcome to the Jungle — which featured the entire cast together with every actor getting proper screen time, the makers dropped another song on Monday titled 'Ghis Ghis Ghis.' The Bhojpuri-inspired track left the internet surprised as it featured Akshay dancing alongside Bhojpuri star Akshara Singh.
The song also features Paresh Rawal, Tusshar Kapoor, Rajpal Yadav, Jacqueline Fernandez and Johnny Lever. The track opens with a comic setup where a voice asks, "You know someone?" to which Paresh Rawal replies, "Yes, I do. He was a star once, became a flop hero, and now he has become an item man working in the Bhojpuri film industry."
In the music video, Akshay sports long hair and grooves to the upbeat, high-energy track with exaggerated comic dance moves. Packed with colourful visuals, festive vibes and massy beats, 'Ghis Ghis Ghis' showcases Akshay in a rustic desi avatar as he matches steps with Akshara Singh in an energetic dance number.
Watching Akshay Kumar and Akshara Singh steal the show, Jacqueline Fernandez declares in the song, "Bhojpuri is better than Hollywood."
Ganesh Acharya has choreographed the track. It has been composed by Vikram Montrose, who has also lent his voice alongside Supriyaa Pathak, while Abhinav Shekhar has penned the lyrics.
The song has already generated strong buzz online, with social media users praising the Bollywood-Bhojpuri fusion and Akshay's lively screen presence. However, netizens have shared mixed reactions. While many loved the vibe and energy of the Bollywood-meets-Bhojpuri track, others felt Akshay should refrain from doing "item songs" like this, calling it over-the-top and below the belt.
One user wrote, "Old Akshay is back with his old comedy style.."
While another commented, "Akshay Kumar garda uda diya hai."
Other comments included: "Akki's expressions," "Bawal macha diya," "Akshay Kumar brought back his original energy in this song," and "Damn, Bhojpuri song and Akshay Kumar — what a combo."
Directed by Ahmed Khan, Welcome to the Jungle is the latest instalment in the popular Welcome franchise. The film features a huge ensemble cast including Suniel Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani and Jacqueline Fernandez, among others. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on June 26, 2026.
