Another week has gone by and as usual it was an interesting week for auto lovers with new launches of cars and bikes. Here we are giving you a round of what transpired through over the week. While the launch of the powerful hatch Fiat Abarth Punto, Chevrolet's Trailblazer SUV and Audi's S5 Sportback kept us on our toes in the car world, Mahindra's Gusto special edition gave colours to this festive season in the last week.

Fiat Abarth Punto, Abarth Avventura

Italian auto maker fiat launched its highly-anticipated Abarth Punto hot hatch in India this week on 19 October along with its Abarth Avventura crossover. Both the high performance cars ,which are powered by the same 1.4-litre T-JET turbocharged petrol engine, have been priced at Rs 9.95 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.

While the engine develops 145bhp and 200Nm of torque and comes mated to five speed manual transmission in Abarth Punto, the same engine in Abarth Avventura makes 140bhp of power and 212Nm of torque mated to five-speed manual transmission.

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz RS

Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest car maker, launched a new variant of the Ciaz sedan dubbed Ciaz RS. The mid-size sedan's new variant, which is available in petrol and diesel hybrid avatars, have been priced at Rs 9.2 lakh and Rs 10.28 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. The new variants get a spoiler pack that includes a front under spoiler, side under spoiler, trunk-lid spoiler and rear underbody spoiler.

Power come from the same 1,373cc petrol unit that develops 91bhp at 6,000rpm and 130Nm of torque at 4,000rpm and 1,248cc displacement and develops 89bhp at 4,000rpm and 200Nm of torque at 1,750rpm.

Audi S5 Sportback

German luxury car maker Audi's S5 Sportback also made its India debut this week with a price tag of Rs 62.95 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai/Delhi). Audi S5 Sportback, the five -door coupe, is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 TFSI engine that can churn out 328.5bhp of power and 440 Nm of torque with 7-speed S Tronic gearbox. The Audi S5 Sportback sprints from 0-100 km/h in 5.1 seconds and can attain a top-speed of 250 km/h.

Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV

Chevrolet India launched its full size SUV, the Trailblazer, in India on 21 October. Priced at Rs 26.4 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi, the new SUV measures 4,878mm in length, 1,902mm in width and 1,847mm of height. It comes with 2,845mm wheelbase and has a ground clearance of class leading 253mm. Under the hood, the Trailblazer is powered by 2.8-litre Duramax four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that develops 197bhp of power at 3,600rpm and 500Nm of torque at 2,000rpm mated to six-speed automatic transmission.

Mahindra Gusto Special Edition

The week also saw the launch of a special edition of the Gusto scooter from Mahindra Two Wheelers. The special edition Gusto that comes with new two-tone paint finishes has been priced at Rs 49,350, ex-showroom Delhi.

The new dual-tone colours are available only with the top of the line VX trim and is called Silver Magenta and Ice Cool Red. The single tone colours that include Volcanic Red, Iceberg White, Galactic Black, Magnetic Magenta and Organza Silver are also available in all trims.
