Season 8 episode 7 of The Vampire Diaries will see Stefan trying to make Christmas Eve the one Caroline would remember, but Damon's unexpected arrival will ruin things for the youngest Salvatore brother. Watch the Season 8 midseason finale live on The CW at 8pm EDT this Friday.

As to what viewers can expect in the midseason finale, Candice King, the actress who plays Caroline Forbes, revealed to TVLine that a lot of answers will be provided before the show goes on a break "And we, of course, pose more questions," King told TVLine. "You'll learn a lot about Matt's dad, and the history of [the Donovan] family in Mystic Falls. You'll also see Damon and Stefan, and what happens next for them."

The episode will be a Christmas special that will see Caroline throwing the perfect party to celebrate the final 24 hours with her fiancé, Stefan. But Damon and Sybil, who have agendas of their own, interrupt the gathering.

"They have their own plan. They have their own reasons," King said about Damon and Sybil. "But of course, they're not necessarily going to show all their cards at the beginning of the meal. So you're going to see a lot of Sybil and Damon toying around with the other dinner guests, which are Matt and Matt's father. So we're going to learn a lot about Matt's father and his history with Mystic Falls and why Sybil and Damon are so intrigued by him."

The official synopsis for the episode titled The Next Time I Hurt Somebody, It Could Be You states that things will get dark and twisted when Damon and Sybil crash Christmas Eve dinner. We'll also see flashbacks to Stefan's past and Cade attempting to lure Stefan with a mysterious agenda that will force Stefan to make an unimaginable decision.

The Vampire Diaries airs Fridays on the CW.
