Through the trailer of The Belko Experiment, director Greg McLean has put together the worst nightmare that anyone could experience. Written by the Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn, the first look of the thriller movie conveys the basic plotline – to survive, kill three colleagues or get killed by the hostage.

Starring John Gallagher Jr, Tony Goldwyn and Adria Arjona in the lead, the trailer reveals that how a routine day at work goes wrong. Employees of a non-profit organisation that works out in Bogata, Colombia, are welcomed to work from an unknown voice via the intercom.

"Your chance of survival increases by following my words. Your task is simply this – kill three of your co-workers or we kill six others," the voice explains. Brushing it off as a prank, employees ignore the message. Panicked board members then gather all employees and start searching for the prankster.

To convince the people in the building, the captor kills one of the employees without even shooting. Announcing further instructions, the person in the intercom reveals that if his orders are not followed, he will kill people himself, using a tag installed in each individual working there. Locked up in the building, the trailer unravels the various steps taken by inmates to break open, reach out for help and how they eventually participate in a deadly game of kill or be killed.

From the producers of The Conjuring and Annabelle, this blood-gushing thriller is set to drive every viewer to the edge of their seats and show office politics turn into real life survival of the fittest. The thriller has already been premiered at the Toronto Film Festival this year and is set to release on March 17.
