Roger Federer vs Rafael Nadal – it's been a while since we have seen one of the greatest rivalries in men's tennis history. Come Sunday, the two legends of the sport will battle it out for the Swiss Indoors title in Basel.

It's been nearly two years since Federer and Nadal faced each other – the last time was at the 2014 Australian Open, with the two players facing off on an ATP Tour match way back in 2013 in Rome -- but the wait is finally over after both players got through their respective semifinals in contrasting fashion.

Nadal saw off the challenge of Frenchman Richard Gasquet 6-4, 7-6 (9-7), while Federer got the better of the American Jack Sock 6-3, 6-4.

"This is the first time we play each other in Switzerland," Federer was quoted as saying by ATP's official website. "It will be an amazing atmosphere. This is a dream final for the fans and the tournament director.

"I'm very delighted. It's a great feeling. You always hope at the beginning of the week that you will be part of the last two players there and have a chance to win the trophy again in your hometown. It's nice to relive that dream again this week."

Nadal has shown signs of getting back to his relative best in the past few weeks, and if he can get another win over his great rival, it will be another pointer towards the Spaniard finally getting back his mojo.

Irrespective of the result, though, Nadal will be happy to be playing in the finals of tournaments consistently again.

"I'm happy with the victory," Nadal said after getting past the dangerous Gasquet. "It was a great match, a beautiful one I think. Both players played very good points. We played well and it was close. I'm very happy. It's an important week for me.

"It's better if you don't have to come back, but it's about believing to come back and being well mentally all the time. In generally I've been playing good tennis and today was a good match."
