Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan made his debut in Marathi through a song "Saavli" by singer and music composer Shekhar Ravjiani. 

Shah Rukh, who is popularly known for his romantic roles, is seen reciting a few couplets in the beginning of the album in a poetic manner.

"Parchhai teri saavli si, natkhat thodi baavli si, aas paas guzar ke jaati hai. Na jaana ho jahan, wahin bulati hai. Tujhe yaad karna zyada aasaan hai, ya tujhe bhoolana zyada mushkil, ikk parchi bhari sawaal ki, meri mutthi mein chhod jati hai. Parchhai teri saavli si, natkhat thodi baavli si," Shah Rukh recites in his charismatic way before the song begins.

The song is about the first love of a school boy who falls is in love with his classmate.

Penned and directed by Ravi Jadhav, the song is sung by Shekhar Ravjiani and also features playback singer Sundhi Chuahan.

The song is Shekhar's second Marathi single after "Saazni".

According to reports, the revenue generated by the song will be donated to NGO which is rumoured to be the main reason behind Shah Rukh giving his nod for the cameo in "Saavli".

Briefing about the song Shekhar Ravjiani said, "Saavli is a story about first love. Beautiful, unforgettable and magical. I hope you love listening to this song as much as I loved singing it."

Thanking Shah Rukh for making an appearance in the song and lending his voice, Shekhar added, "Your thoughtfulness and love has made this video really special. Thank you Shah Rukh!"  

Shah Rukh, who will soon be seen in an action avatar in Rohit Shetty's "Chennai Express", has urged his fans to listen to the soulful number.
