Pro Kabaddi League 2016 leaders Telugu Titans will face a stiff challenge on Monday as they get set to take on high-flying Patna Pirates at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indoor Stadium in Kolkata.
Along with Bengal Warriors, Patna Pirates remain the only team that are yet to suffer a defeat so far this season, and only a point separates the Pirates from the Titans at the top of the table.
Patna Pirates, led by captain Manpreet Singh, dished out a massive performance against defending champions U Mumba in their previous game of the season, to record a whopping 40-26 score in their favour at the Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru.
Pardeep Narwal and Rajesh Mondal bagged eight raid points each in the match, while the trio of Sandeep Narwal, Suresh Kumar and Vinod Kumar, bagged three tackle points each in the match for Patna Pirates, to record one of the biggest upsets of the season so far.
It will be a tough task for the Telugu Titans to keep the Patna side at bay, and Titans skipper Rahul Chaudhary will have to be at his best once again to increase his team's lead at the top. Rahul, one of the stars of the Pro Kabaddi over the seasons, was exceptional in his team's previous match against Bengaluru Bulls in Bangalore.
Telugu Titans recorded a 35-26 score in their favour in their last game, and apart from Rahul, Sukesh Hegde and Dharmaraj Cheralathan were the stars for the team.
