Patna Pirates have almost made it to the playoffs of the Pro Kabaddi League 2016. The side, led by Manpreet Singh, recorded their eighth victory of the season on Wednesday against Bengaluru Bulls, and now they will be keen on increasing their whopping tally of points even more on Thursday.
The Pirates take on Puneri Paltan at the Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna in their 10th game of the season.
Star raiders Deepak Narwal and Rohit Kumar gave oodles of points to Patna Pirates in their game, which was as-close-as-it-gets, against the Bulls on Wednesday. Surjeet Narwal from Bengaluru Bulls stepped from the front to make the match an exciting contest, but in the end, it was defender Mahipal Narwal of the Patna Pirates whose brilliance snatched the win for the Pro Kabaddi 2016 leaders.
Puneri Paltan, seated sixth in the table, know what they are up for on Thursday. With just two wins from seven games, the Pune side, which boasts of big names like Manjeet Chhillar (C), Ajay Thakur and Deepak Hooda, never really got their combination right this season.
And the playoffs spot also looks a bit tough for them at this point. However, with seven points to go, it's now-or-never for the Puneri Paltan side.
It was a tie the last time these two sides faced in the Pro Kabaddi this season.
