Puneri Paltan open their campaign in the Pro Kabaddi League 2015 when they take on the Telugu Titans on Monday at the National Sports Club of India (NSCI) in Mumbai, and they have to be wary of the Hyderabad side.

The Southern Indian side have already started blowing their bugle with the 'Le Panga' sound this year, as Rahul Chaudhari led the Titans to an impressive 36-27 victory over Dabang Delhi in their opening fixture of the lucrative kabaddi league on Sunday.

Apart from Rahul, who was exceptional on the day, Deepak Hudda, Kashiling Adake and Sukesh Hegde also gave an impressive display to give the much-needed boost for the Telugu Titans.

Sandeep, 18, showed flair in the defence as he received praises with his brilliant ankle holds throughout the match. His performance on the day also made him receive the Big Impression Player of the Match Award.

Needless to say, the Iranian kabaddi stars were also in a league of their own.

All eyes were on the costliest player of the league - Hadi Oshtorak. Along with compatriot Meraj Sheikh, Hadi showed glimpses of his all-round display in terms of power and technique.

The moment of the match was, however, provided by Meraj as he got three successful raids towards the end of the first half, and was aptly named the raider of the match. He got a total of 12 points in the match.

There was a little concern as Hadi had to limp off with a minor injury following a tackle, but the Titans need not worry about it going into today's game.

Puneri Paltan -- who finished rockbottom last year -- now have got a huge task ahead of them, but the side's coach Ashok Shinde is relying on his strategies to do the trick.

"We always prepare two strategies; if one doesn't work we have to go for the second. When we create a strategy, we need two plans during a match. If there is strategy got failed we need the second one," Shinde was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, Telugu Titans have announced that for every victory they earn in PKL 2015, the franchise will sponsor three street children through their graduation and first jobs. 

The match gets under way at 8pm IST.
