Indian Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi will host a summit for G-4 leaders -- Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Brazil President Dilma Rouseff -- in New York on Saturday for the first such meeting of heads of states in several years.

The leaders are expected to discuss reform of the UN Security Council, with India seeking a permanent seat. 

Modi made a strong pitch for a UNSC seat during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly on Friday. 

Following the G-4 Summit, Modi will travel to San Jose, California, where he will visit Tesla Motors and meet the heads of the world's biggest IT companies, including Apple Inc. CEO Tim Cook, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen.
