"Last Man Standing" returns with season 5 on ABC with Tim Allen as Mike Baxter, who continues to be surrounded by situations that test his ideas in which he strongly believes.
"Last Man Standing" is a show that highlights all those issues that families are dealing with in today's day and age. But it's all seen through the eyes of an American dad, Mike Baxter, played by Tim Allen, the former star of ABC's "Home Improvement."
Allen is a traditional-minded American dad, who works as the marketing director for a chain of outdoor sporting goods stores. He loves to have adventures while he's travelling for work and for the man that he is, he drives a pick-up truck. While Mike is king of the hill at work, he's the odd man out at home that is dominated by women — his wife and their three daughters.
The pilot episode of season 5 opens with Mike returning from a long road trip. He finds that a lot has happened at home and at work in his absence. And to add to his troubles, a tornado is headed for town.
