When the new Knick building caught fire in the last episode, Robertson had no other option than to jump from the upper floor and he presumably died. However, it seems he is still alive in the season finale episode of "The Knick" titled "This Is All We Are."

The synopsis of the episode mentions that Thackery ignores Zinberg's advice at Mt. Sinai and undertakes a risky, alternative course of action.

Cornelia confronts Henry about the family business and Barrow's actions at the hospital construction site are called into question.

Meanwhile, Gallinger ponders a job opportunity and Cleary steadfastly refuses to give up on Harriet.

In the previous episode titled "Do You Remember Moon Flower?", while having a conversation with her daughter, Cornelia, Robertson realized that the lower floor of the new Knick building was on the fire.

He rushed Cornelia out of the room but was caught in the fire. Unable to find a way out, he jumped out of the window and presumably died as it was not shown what exactly happened to him at the end of the episode.

Hence, there is a significant chance that Robertson might have survived. As he is one of the prominent members of the Knick team, his death would surely devastate all the hospital staff, his family and friends.

Though there is no hint that Robertson survived in the upcoming episode's promo, there must be a reason that why he was not confirmed dead in the previous episode.

Besides it, "This Is All We Are" will also ponder upon the mystery of the fire. Most of the hospital staff is suspicious of Barrow and some of them are sure it was done by them.

However, if Barrow indeed did it, his intention or purpose behind it has been kept under the wrap and will be revealed only in the next episode.
