USA host Brazil in a high-profile international friendly in Boston on Tuesday, with both teams in confident mood after victories last week.
USMNT beat Peru 2-1 in a friendly, thanks to a brace from Jozy Altidore, who showed signs of his old form in that game, while also relishing the honour of being named captain.
"To come back in the group and be part of a great night was special," Altidore said. "To wear the armband was also very memorable for me.
"It was important to get a result. It does a lot for the group and now we have another tough test on Tuesday against Brazil."
Jurgen Klinsmann was pretty happy man after the 2-1 win over Peru, the side that finished third in the Copa America a few months back, and the USA coach believes this team can improve further, with a vital Confederations Cup playoff against Mexico coming up next month.
"I think we saw a lot of positives," Klinsmann said after the match. "We don't need to talk to individuals, but I think they got the message. Like the energy, they had it in every training session.
"They were very serious about it. We already talked about the Mexico clash coming up and so the response throughout the entire team was very positive.
"I was not upset at all at halftime being a goal down. I said, 'It was a deflected chance, it happens. Guys, we're going to go back into this game and turn it around,' and that was really fun to watch."
Brazil, themselves, won 1-0 against Costa Rica on Friday, with Hulk scoring the winner for Dunga's men.
The big question heading into this international friendly against USA in Foxborough is the fitness of Neymar, after the Barcelona superstar only came on as a substitute in the win over Costa Rica.
"Our idea is to use Neymar a bit more than with respect to the game against Costa Rica but we also have to think about our World Cup qualifiers," Dunga told Lancenet, referring to Neymar being suspended for the first two matches of the World Cup qualifiers.
"We have to give new opportunities to other players. Our focus must be on the qualifying campaign and we must prepare in the best possible way for those games."
Even if only the one goal was scored against Costa Rica, Dunga was reasonably pleased, especially considering this was Brazil's first match after that painful elimination in the quarterfinals of the Copa America against Paraguay.
"It's normal that we don't play the perfect game," Dunga added. "After all, we've only been training for a few days. But overall I was happy with how my team played and all the players that started did well."
