The first video song from upcoming Malayalam movie "Maheshinte Prathikaaram", featuring actor Fahadh Faasil, was released by Muzik247 on Tuesday, 26 January. 

The song titled "Idukki" is composed by Bijibal and the lyrics are penned by Rafeeq Ahammed. The song, which begins with the line "Malamele Thirivech" is sung by Bijibal and is shot in the beautiful locales of Idukki in Kerala. Fahadh plays the role of a wedding photographer, who owns a studio in Idukki and is seen taking wedding photographs in the song, which is said to be a nostalgic number describing the Idukki district, which lies in the Western Ghats of Kerala. 

The second song "Theliveyil", a love song in the background of a funeral ceremony is sung by Sudeep Kumar and Sangeetha Sreekanth. 

The film has a total of four songs. While music is composed by Bijibalthe lyrics are penned by Rafeeq Ahammed and Santhosh Varma. Vijay Yesudas, Bijibal, Sudeep Kumar, Sangeetha Sreekanth, Aparna Balamurali and Nikhil Mathew have rendered their voice for the songs.

"Maheshinte Prathikaram" is the debut directorial venture of Dileesh Pothan, who is known for his role of a filmmaker in popular Malayalam movie "Salt N' Pepper" (2011). The upcoming Fahadh starrer is touted as a simple comedy family entertainer scripted by Syam Pushkaran. 

The film also features Anusree and Soubin Shahir in main roles. While Shyju Khalid handles the cinematography, editing and colouring is done by Saiju Sreedharan. Produced by Aashiq Abu under the banner of OPM Dream Mill Cinemas, "Maheshinte Prathikaram" is scheduled to hit screens on 5 February.

"Maheshinte Prathikaram" is the second release of Fahadh in 2016 after "Monsoon Mangoes" and the movie marks the comeback of Fahadh and Aashiq after the commercially hit and critically acclaimed movie "22 Female Kottayam" (2012).
