When 'The Flash' returns to The CW with Season 2 Episode 3, we will get a deeper understanding of the "Family of Rogues". We will get to meet more of the Snart family, specifically, Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and Golden Glider's (Peyton List) father Lewis Snart (Michael Ironside).
This season, so far has been more about the breaches that Barry (Grant Gustin) created in Central City, and how the super villain Zoom (Tony Todd) from Earth 2 is sending meta-humans to kill the Flash. Although following the format of defeating one evil meta-human at a time, this season has the undercurrent of inter-universe travel, which drives the story forward.
According to a promo clip for Episode 3 "Family of Rogues", Team Flash has found out about the existence of a "Speed Cannon", which will allow Barry and Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears) to travel between these universes.
The episode will also be marked with the presence of Lewis Snart, a former police officer who used to abuse his kids Leonard aka Captain Cold and Lisa aka Golden Glider. He is described as a "cold-blooded, ruthless, career criminal" and a corrupt cop who will return to the streets of Central City after spending years imprisoned. In "Family of Rogues", he has reportedly initiated a plan that will put his children in the path of danger.
Meanwhile, marking the return of an unexpected family member, Iris' (Candice Patton) mother will make a comeback to her and Joe's (Jesse L Martin) life. Why has she returned after such a long time? How will her return affect Iris' life and her relationship with Barry?
