Ever since Britain's beloved butler, Mr. Carson, proposed to Downton's head housekeeper, Mrs Hughes, many wondered when their wedding would take place. If you've been waiting longingly to see the quintessential Englishman wed his love, then you can watch it on Season 6 Episode 3. At the start of Season 6, Carson and Mrs Hughes battled several problems ranging from cold feet to anxiety, but it appears that they will put their differences aside and finally declare themselves man and wife.
However, the promo for Episode 3 hints that the journey to the altar will not be smooth. Mrs Hughes (Phyllis Logan) will have a small misunderstanding with her employer, Lady Grantham.
In the video clip, the bride tries to stand coyly while trying out Lady Grantham's dress in her employer's room. At this juncture, Cora walks in and is shocked to find such a transgression by a maid who has never broken the rules at the house. Lady Grantham dismisses the servants from her room and it remains to be seen if Mrs Hughes has anything suitable to wear at her own wedding.
The pictures for Episode 3 indicate that Tom Branson (Allen Leech) may make an appearance. However, is his return to Downton permanent? If it is, will Lady Mary give up her job as the estate's agent?
The synopsis for Season 6 Episode 3 reads:
An issue with the wedding dress arises; the disagreement over the breakfast is put to rest; Edith meets a deadline with the help of an old friend; and the debate over the hospital takes a nasty turn.
