The much awaited "Criminal Minds" spin-off series is here and if the pilot episode is any indication of what's to come, expect to see Americans trapped in dangerous situations abroad. In Season 1 episode 2 "Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders," two U.S. nationals go off the grid while in Mumbai, and ensuring their safety becomes detective Jack Garrett's (Gary Sinise) mission.

The International Response Team's technical analyst Russell Monty (Tyler James Williams) says that the two Americans were vacationing in Mumbai until they stopped communicating. The investigative team looks at videos of the two and comes to the conclusion that the victims were civilians.
According to the synopsis (via TV Guide) for episode 2 titled "Harvest," one of the Americans goes missing and the other finds himself robbed of a kidney.
Garrett's team will enlist the help of a local detective and find a suspect, but that's when all the troubles begin. In the promo (via Tye Judy), the unidentified suspect throws a kerosene lamp on the floor and sets it ablaze when he sees Garrett approaching him. Later on, a visibly angry Garrett is heard telling the suspect, "If another American dies, I won't be alone."
