Panama will hope to make their Copa America debut one to remember when they play Bolivia in the first match of Group D on Monday. The match at the Camping World Stadium in Orland is a chance for both teams to show they are not just here to make up the numbers.

Considering Argentina and Chile are the other two teams in the group, Bolivia and Panama have not been given much of a chance of making it to the knockout stages of the Copa America Centenario. But, if they are to do that, winning this first match will be essential, because while getting a positive result against one of Chile and Argentina might not be out of the realms of possibility, picking up wins in both will be next to impossible.

"We want to do things in a good way on the day of the match against Bolivia," Panama midfielder Armando Cooper was quoted as saying by Goal. "We are doing things well. We are all good, we're healthy.

"We want to impose our style and form. We hope that on the day of the match against Bolivia we can do that and more."

Panama will take confidence from their solid showings in the Gold Cup, but they will also know facing South American opposition is a completely different proposition, even if they are the higher ranked team in this match. While Bolivia are not one of the South American heavyweights, they do have enough quality in them to make an impression or two.

"We have an opponent at a very good level in Bolivia coming up," Panama defender Adolfo Machado said. "The team is focused and we are preparing ourselves in the best way.

"We all know the coaching staff's ideas and strategy. The 23 of us are available for them and we are all capable for what they require. The mindset is at 100%. It's a blessing to be in this Copa America."
