After defeating Novak Djokovic in the finals of the Dubai Open, Roger Federer seems to be in fine form at the ongoing BNP Paribas Open, as he cruised past Argentina's Diego Schwartzman 6-4 6-2 to reach the third round of the competition.

The Swiss ace is set to face Andreas Seppi, who won his match against Victor Hănescu 6-4 and 6-3. The former world number one might be eager to progress further in the competition at the expense of Sippi, who defeated the Swiss in the 2015 Australian Open.

Federer might be eyeing revenge against the Italian and is happy to face him once again in a competitive tournament.

Talking about Seppi, he said, "I'm happy to play him again," as quoted by ATP's official website.

"I was very disappointed with the performance I had in Australia. I know he can play well and can beat me, that's not the problem. It was the way I was hitting the ball. I wasn't playing very committed. I wasn't sure exactly how I was going to hit my forehand and backhands. It was just a tough match overall and the match slipped away from me."

But, Federer will be better prepared for this game.

"I really thought Seppi did a good job and nice job of putting the pressure on me, as well... I hope this time around it's going to go better for me. I will be prepared, there is no doubt about that. I'm happy I'm getting an opportunity to play him right away again."

Despite Seppi's win in their last encounter, Federer enjoys a good record against the Italian, so the Swiss is going to be a favourite for the clash.

If Federer is expected to progress into the fourth round of the competition, another former world number one, Rafael Nadal is also expected to win his third round clash against American Donald.

The Spaniard also put up a good game against Igor Sijsling defeating the Swedish star in straight sets, 6-4 and 6-2, while his American opponent defeated Jérémy Chardy 6-4 and 6-2.

The Spaniard seems to be full of respect for the American, and feels that he could prove to be a very tough opponent.

"I think [Young] improved a lot the last couple of years," Nadal said.

"He's playing very well, winning a lot of matches. Could be a very tough opponent for me. After tomorrow, I hope to be ready for it."
