In Season 4 Episode 8 of "Arrow", the vigilantes of Star City got side-tracked from their mission to stop Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) due to the arrival of Hawkman (Falk Hentschel) and Hawkigirl (Ciara Renée). However, Episode 9, titled "Dark Waters", was what made all "Arrow" fans anxious, especially because it could possible end in the death of a beloved character.

In the promo for "Dark Waters", we see Oliver (Stephen Amell) facing off against Damien and his ghosts in plain daylight, in his capacity as the Mayor of Star City. In the promo, we hear Damien claiming "Every now and then, humanity needs a reset... a do-over... That time has come". This means it is time for his long-held-back plan to be put into action and Star City to be completely destroyed and built from scratch.

However, Star City is not going to be levelled by Damien under Oliver's watch, and he exposes HIVE and its leader to the public. He takes the fight to Damien, and being the Big Bad he is, Damien is going to retaliate with everything he has got.

In the promo, we see him imprisoning everyone Oliver loves, and attempting to kill them. At the end of the trailer for "Dark Waters", we see a breathless Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) declaring her love for Oliver just as she dies.

In the premiere Episode of "Arrow" Season 4, we saw Oliver standing dejected by the grave of someone he deeply cares for, and putting two and two together, most fans are worried that Felicity might die in the mid-season finale. However, we do not think any "Olicity" shipper should fret, because there is no indication she will die, other than the misleading promo.

Moreover, in many panels the writers of "Arrow" have explicitly spoken about Felicity's future on the show, much beyond the upcoming episode. In fact, in the poll we conducted about the identity of the grave, most fans believed it would be Captain Lance (Paul Blackthorne) who dies in "Arrow".

Diggle's (David Ramsey) death too is unlikely, because we haven't sorted out his brother's story. Thea (Willa Howard) on the other hand is set to have more scenes with her former boyfriend Roy (Colton Haynes) later in the season, while Laurel (Katie Cassidy) is instrumental in urging her sister Sara (Caity Lotz) to become the White Canary ahead of the "Legends of Tomorrow" premiere.

Watch Season 4 Episode 9 of "Arrow" at 8 pm (EST) on Wednesday, 9 December. You can also live stream "Dark Waters" via CWTV.
