Exactly how much do you know about your child's smartphone usage? Sure, this is an age where not having a smartphone is considered to be a sort of "blasphemy," but are you aware that there's a new secret app that may be helping your child to hide certain photos not fit for his/her age?

According to reports, a new app that comes with a calculator icon can help teenagers hide objectionable photos on their phone from their parents. Well , we don't know if the images are indeed "objectionable" but you understand the possibilities, right?

The app is known as Calculator %. On the iTunes website, it has been described as: "Private Photo (Calculator%) app is private photos and videos hidden behind calculator."

"Anyone who starts this application looks at a calculator but if you put in passcode it will open up private area," it adds. "All files are securely stored in the App and remain completely private and confidential".

A woman from Alabama recently made a video explaining how this app works in order to warn other parents about it. The video has since been shared widely online. We know your little secret, crafty teenagers!

The woman in the video, Pamela Casey, explained how the app looks just like an innocent icon, but has actually been designed to keep photos private. She follows it up by instructing parents on how to unlock the app and access the pictures their children could be hiding.

As of now, as you may expect, a number of teens have expressed their displeasure on making the app publicly known to the parents, and have considered it as major privacy breach. Others, however, especially parents, seemed grateful since Casey brought it to their attention.

If you are a teen, exactly how enraged are you? And if you are a parent, how grateful do you feel since you now know your child's dirty little secret? Let us know in the comments section below.
