An engineering student from Warangal has committed suicide on Monday night after allegedly being ragged by seniors, according to emerging reports.
The victim, who was identified as Vadlakonda Sainath hailing from Adilabad District, was studying in Medchal CMR college near Hyderabad, reported The Hindu.
His body was found on railway tracks in Warangal on Tuesday morning. A suicide note, said to be written by the student, was also found by the railway police.
"Please stop the ragging... I would not have reached this situation had the seniors not done like that," read the note.
The body, which has been taken to MGM Hospital in Warangal, has been identified by the parents.
"We're checking with the college in Medchal if any ragging incidents were reported earlier. Criminal action would be initiated after ascertaining facts and speaking with the student's family," The daily quoted Petbasheerabad ACP S Ashok Kumar as saying.
