Nathan Fillion, who is known for his role as Richard Rodgers in crime-comedy-drama Castle, recently expressed his interest in joining the cast list of one of his favourite shows, The Walking Dead.

The 45-year-old revealed that he has a lot of free time after the sudden cancellation of his popular ABC show and he would love to make a guest appearance in many of his favourite drama series, including Norman Reedus-starrer horror drama.

Later on, the Firefly star admitted that it will not be a good idea to portray a zombie since he is not tough enough to do it. "That's not easy to do in Atlanta. Just the weather there alone is such an insurmountable challenge. Those guys work really, really hard," he added.

The Serenity actor even criticised the entertainment industry for their quick decisions in cancelling some of the popular shows and stated that it is just focusing on business. According to him, the onscreen couple in Castle -- Richard and Kate -- did not get the send off they deserved in the story.

"I don't take it personally when a show gets cancelled — I can't take it personally, all my shows gets cancelled! Look at my resume, it's a long list of cancelled TV shows. The fact is, I made a lot of great friends on a really great show. I'm really happy for everything that that show has done for me," said the Castle star while interacting with a representative of the New York Post.

Fillion recently made a guest appearance in the popular ABC sit-com Modern Family as a weatherman named Rainer Shine along with Sarah Hyland and Ty Burrell. The show will return with its Halloween special episode this Wednesday, October 19, at 9 pm EST.
