Vivo is building upon its strengths and plans to launch a new smartphone this month. Vivo V5s is going to be the new "#PerfectSelfie" smartphone by the Chinese tech giant, as a successor to the V5 smartphone.

The media invites for the upcoming event have already been sent out and gives us an idea of what to expect from Vivo at the launch. The company has already started promoting the V5s on its social media accounts, confirming the launch of the handset on April 27.

The company has also been teasing phone's specs on Facebook. In the first short clip shared by the company highlighted the V5s' front camera, which the company touted to "stunning selfies." Another video followed up to show-off the phone's front moon-light flash.

It doesn't end there. Vivo also shared a video showing off the V5s' display, which it claims will "bring the virtual world to reality." Finally, the last video shared on the company's official Facebook page shows the design, which is sleek and refined.

None of the teasers confirm what the V5s will actually give in terms of features. But thanks to some reliable reports, here's everything from the phone's specs to its price.

Vivo V5s' biggest USP will be its camera. Justifying to the hashtag #PerfectSelfie, the V5s will feature a 20MP front facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash, accompanied by a 13MP rear-facing snapper with f/2.2 aperture.

It is said to have a 5.5-inch HD display with 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass and a MediaTek MT6750 chipset with 4GB RAM under the hood, which is similar to what the V5 had. The upgraded handset is expected to come with a 3,000mAh battery, dual SIM support, 4G LTE, 64GB internal storage with microSD card slot and Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based FunTouch OS 2.6.

From the teasers, it looks like the handset will come in matte black colour, but other colour options such as grey, gold and rose gold are also likely to be offered to buyers.

Finally, the handset is going to be priced at Rs. 18,990, which is not too above the V5's Rs. 15,000-Rs. 16,000 price tag. For a much premium experience, Vivo has the V5 Plus with dual selfie cameras priced at Rs. 25,990. The new V5s will serve as an affordable alternative to that.
