Bollywood actress Amrita Rao tied the knot with her boyfriend of seven years, RJ Anmol, on Sunday, May 15. The radio and TV anchor Anmol shared the news with fans on social media.

"An interview that started 7 years back, continues... Only to get stronger today! JUST MARRIED!!! Myself & Amrita need your Good Wishes," Anmol wrote on Facebook along with a picture of the couple.

The wedding was a private affair with only the couple's close friends and family in attendance. Both Amrita and her husband Anmol are planning a grand celebration later. "Amrita has never spoken about her relationship because she is a very private person. Anmol (a radio and TV anchor) and she were sure about settling down, but the wedding was planned only recently. The ceremony will be attended by their immediate families and close friends. Since both of them are busy with their work commitments right now, they will plan a bigger celebration some time later," a source told the Times of India.

Last year, there were rumours that Amrita had secretly got married to Anmol. The rumours started doing the rounds after the actress was spotted with an engagement ring on her finger. But, she refuted the rumours during the release of Prakash Jha's "Satyagraha." She had said that she would never flaunt her relationship publicly as she believed that it would lose its sanctity in that case.

"If there is someone special in my life I would like to announce it at the right stage of the relationship because it will bring a certain respect to it," she had told Pinkvilla adding, "Also, flaunting a relationship can keep you in news irrespective of your movie projects but for me that is losing the sanctity of a relationship and making it commercial. I will never do that."

The "Vivah" actress, who was last seen in Bollywood films "Satyagraha" and "Singh Saab The Great," is currently part of a television show "Meri Awaaz Hi Pehchaan Hai." The show depicts the journey of two sisters (played by Amrita and Aditi Vasudev) who turn rivals due to certain circumstances.
