Five years after winning National Award for "Aadukalam," director Vetrimaaran is back with his latest film "Visaranai" or "Visaaranai." It is based on M Chandrakumar's "Lock Up."

'Visaranai' Movie Stills | 'Bangalore Naatkal' Audience Review

"Visaranai" is not a regular commercial movie but a film that shows the harsh realities of life. The movie narrates the story of the author and Coimbatore-based auto rickshaw driver M Chandrakumar, who shares his experience after being arrested on false charges along with his three other friends.

The Tamil film has been produced by actor Dhanush and it has Dinesh, Anandhi, Aadukalam Murugadoss, Samuthirakani, Kishore, Mishal Ghoshal and others in the cast. GV Prakash Kumar has composed the music, S Ramalingam has handled the cinematography and late Kishore Te has edited the flick.

Four friends from Tamil Nadu leave for Andhra Pradesh and dream of making it big before returning back to their homes. Initially, they struggled to survive and sleep in parks. One among them, Pandi (Dinesh), gets a job in a provision store.

One morning, they are in a shock after the cops arrest them for the reasons best known to them. The story shows how people in authority completely misuse power and physically torture the poor boys.
