In India, cricketers and celebs are worshipped like gods. From MS Dhoni to Rohit Sharma to Virat, cricket stars have a huge fan base, not just among cricket fans but even among little kids.
During his last match, Virat Kohli, the legendary Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter, etched his name in history on April 27 by becoming the first player to reach 9,000 runs in the Indian Premier League. The milestone came during a clash against the Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
The match was completed in merely six overs. The star batter was congratulated by many. However, amid accolades and love, a video that has gone viral shows a little boy, who was a Virat fan, left angry and in tears after he waited for an autograph. The little boy was seen with his bat and waited patiently to get his favourite cricketer's autograph, but Virat Kohli was surrounded by security and had his AirPods plugged in, and he seemingly didn't notice.
He went inside the hotel, passing the little boy with his team after the match. The viral clip shows Virat Kohli arriving with his security and staff. The boy followed him and tried to approach, but was stopped by security personnel. Despite people in the background urging security to let the child through, he was not allowed to meet the cricketer.
The boy then started crying inconsolably and, in a moment of frustration, smashed his cricket bat on the floor. A video of the incident, widely shared online, carried the caption: "Universe really said, not today."

Netizens slammed Virat for his behaviour and also schooled the kid's parents, saying he shouldn't be running behind cricketers or idolising them blindly. "Maybe he wasn't in the right mindset at that time, but that ignorance towards the kid is not right," one user wrote.
Another commented, "Sometimes one small moment for a star is a lifelong memory for a child."

"Not every time a player can give you an autograph or meet fans because they have their own personal space and life. We have seen Virat Kohli meeting fans and giving autographs," a user said.
While many called out Virat for his attitude and arrogance.
