Viral photo of Ram Charan, Upasana Konidela holding newborn twins is fake; fans gather outside hospital

Congratulations are in order for actors Ram Charan and Upasana Konidela, who have been blessed with twins.

On late Saturday night, Ram Charan's father Chiranjeevi confirmed the news on X. The couple was blessed with a baby boy and a baby girl on January 31.

Sharing the news, Chiranjeevi posted on X: "With immense joy and a heart full of gratitude, we are happy to share that @AlwaysRamCharan and @upasanakonidela have been blessed with twins – a baby boy and a baby girl. Both the babies and the mother are healthy and doing well. Welcoming these little ones into our family is a moment of pure joy and divine blessing for us as grandparents. We sincerely thank everyone for their prayers, love, blessings and good wishes – Chiranjeevi & Surekha."

The hospital also released an official statement confirming that both the babies and the mother are doing well.

Several videos and photos show Ram Charan heading to the hospital with beefed-up security. Fans have crowded the premises of hipsital to wish the newly minted parents.

Bollywood and Tollywood celebrities have taken to social media to wish the couple. Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu also wished Ram Charan and Upasana.

However, as the news broke, a picture of Ram and Upasana holding their twin babies began going viral. However, that image is old, as the photo is AI-generated. The couple has not shared any photos of their newborns yet.

The twins were born on Saturday, and both the babies and Upasana are reported to be doing well. Soon after the announcement, congratulatory messages flooded social media, with fans celebrating the growing Konidela family.

Ram Charan and Upasana tied the knot in June 2012 after getting engaged in December 2011. Friends long before they began dating, the two have often spoken about their strong bond. Upasana is the vice-chairperson of Apollo Charity and the granddaughter of Apollo Hospitals founder Prathap C Reddy, while Ram Charan is the son of megastar Chiranjeevi.

The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Klin Kaara, in June 2023. Speculation about a second pregnancy began during Diwali 2025, when Upasana shared a video from her Seemantham ceremony on social media. Along with the post, she wrote, "This Diwali was all about double the celebration, double the love and double the blessings," subtly hinting at twins. The family later confirmed the news, sharing their excitement about the new arrivals.
