Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli's latest video from an elder care centre in Thane has left fans concerned, as the former batter can be seen speaking about the care and affection he is receiving there.

The video, which surfaced on social media on September 25, shows Kambli introducing himself and speaking positively about the Nidan Centre for Elderly Care. He said he has received a lot of love at the centre and that it does not feel like he is away from home. He also praised the facilities and hygiene at the centre, calling them "absolutely top-class."

Kambli's latest video comes amid his ongoing health struggles. In December 2024, he was hospitalised in Thane after suffering from a urinary tract infection and low blood pressure. Doctors also found electrolyte abnormalities affecting his muscles and movement, along with old blood clots in his brain linked to an earlier stroke. He was discharged in January 2025 after around two weeks of treatment.

The former cricketer had also spoken about his health and his equation with childhood friend Sachin Tendulkar during an interview with The Times of India in December 2024.

"At that time, it came to my mind that Sachin didn't help. I was extremely frustrated. But Sachin did everything for me, including paying for my two surgeries in 2013," Kambli had said.

Kambli also recalled Tendulkar's role in his cricketing journey and said, "Sachin told me how to play. I made nine comebacks. We are cricketers; we get hurt. When we get out, we also get hurt."

The two former cricketers have known each other since childhood. Kambli and Tendulkar became famous after their unbeaten 664-run partnership for Shardashram Vidyamandir in a school match in 1988.

Kambli went on to make his India debut in 1991 and played 17 Tests and 104 ODIs. He scored 1,084 runs in Tests at an average of 54.20, including four centuries, while he scored 2,477 runs in ODIs.

His Test career included two memorable double centuries. He scored 224 against England at the Wankhede Stadium in 1993 and 227 against Zimbabwe in Delhi in 1994, becoming the first Indian to score back-to-back Test double centuries.

Despite the concern surrounding his latest video, Kambli himself appeared positive about his stay at the care centre. He spoke about receiving affection and feeling at home, while also praising the facilities and cleanliness.

For fans who remember Kambli as one of India's most gifted batters, his latest appearance offers a glimpse into a very different phase of his life.
