Chiyaan Vikram's "Spirit of Chennai" song featuring many celebrities from various film industries of India has been released on YouTube on Monday, April 25.

"Spirit of Chennai" is a song directed and produced by Vikram as a tribute to the hundreds of volunteers who stepped out to help people during the floods that hit Chennai and Cuddalore late last year. The region witnessed unprecedented rainfall in late November and early December, which killed at least 270 people and displaced thousands of others. Public and private property worth crores of rupees was damaged. But what stood out was the spirit of the people, which has been saluted in the "Spirit of Chennai" song.

The song has been composed by C Girinandh, and sung by over 20 singers, including Chinmayi and Shakthishree Gopalan. Rokesh, Madan Karky and Gaana Bala have penned the lyrics, while Sridhar Master is the choreographer and Vijay Milton has handled the camera for the video.

Vikram has also roped in stars like Ram Charan Teja, Prabhas, Nani, Nivin Pauly, Puneeth Rajkumar and Yash from other film industries to be a part of the song. Many Kollywood stars, including Jayam Ravi, Prabhu Deva, Varalakshmi Sarathkumar, Suriya, Arya, Vishal and Bobby Simha, will be seen in the song.

The song with the visuals of the devastating floods was released earlier. But the actual video featuring celebrities is being releasing today.
