Vijay's "Kaththi" and Vikram's "I" have been chosen to be among the best of 2014 albums by iTunes India.

Expressing happiness over the selection, "Kaththi" music composer Anirudh has tweeted, "Happy Day! Thanks to Apple for selecting Kaththi as one of the top Indian albums of 2014."

Anirudh has been on a roll with back-to-back successful albums like "Kaththi," "Maan Karate" and "Velai Illa Pattathari".

"Kaththii" album received tremendous response from the fans as Anirudh had composed the tracks for the first time in Vijay's film. The "Selfie Pulla" song, rendered by Vijay, turned out to be a huge hit among young fans.

Vikram's "I" is also listed among the best albums of the year in India. The AR Rahman musical fetched positive feedback for all the songs, while the "Mersalaayiteen" song, crooned by Anirudh, has been the pick of the lot.

Besides "I", four of Rahman's albums have found a place in the list of top albums of 2014. They include Rajinikanth-starrer "Kochadaiiyaan", Siddharth-Prithviraj's "Kaaviya Thalaivan", Alia Bhatt's "Highway" and Arman Jain's "Lekar Hum Deewana Dil."

Clearly, AR Rahman rules this year's iTunes charts with five out of 20 best albums of the year. The composer's next Tamil album will reportedly be Maniratnam's "Okay Kanmani", starring Dulquer Salman and Nithya Menen.

On the other hand, Anirudh has his hands full with a few projects including the upcoming "Kakki Sattai" album. The film's audio will be launched on 12 December, which also happens be superstar's birthday.

Fans will be in for a double treat as they will get to hear "Kakki Sattai" songs as well as watch Rajinikanth-starrer "Lingaa", which is planned for a big release on the same day.

Expectations on the "Kakki Sattai" album are high as Anirudh has teamed up with actor Sivakarthikeyan for the third time after "Ethir Neechal" and "Maan Karate."

The theme music of "Kakki Sattai" motion poster, which was released last month, has fetched a fantastic response from the fans and it remains to be seen if the album will be able to strike a chord with the audience.

Apart from "Kakki Sattai," Anirudh is composing the soundtracks for Vijay Sethupathi's "Naanum Rowdythaan," "Dhanush's "Maari" and Gautham Karthik's "Rangoon."
