The trailer of Vikram-Amy Jackson starrer "I" has set a new record for a south Indian film. The video has crossed 5 million views, a feat that has not been achieved by any south Indian film trailer.

The "I" trailer has already received more likes than the film's teaser, which was released in September. The teaser had also set a new benchmark by crossing the 9 million mark views, which is a first for any south Indian film.

The Vikram starrer has been creating huge waves, thanks to the impressive teaser, trailer and the songs.

All eyes will now be on Ajith's "Yennai Arindhaal" trailer, which is set to be released as a New Year treat for his fans. There is a big buzz about the film, as Ajith has teamed up with director Gautham Menon for the first time. The film's first look teaser received positive feedback. It created a new record by becoming the most-liked teaser (more than 89,000 likes so far) in the history of south Indian cinema.

It would be interesting to see if the "Yennai Arindhaal" trailer breaks the record set by the "I" trailer. There are huge expectations on the trailer and it needs to be seen if the video is able to impress the audience. It will be released along with the film's songs composed by Harris Jayaraj.

"Yennai Arindhaal" is confirmed for Pongal release, though it is yet to be formally announced. The film, deemed as an action thriller, will have Ajith playing the role of a police officer.

The Gautham Menon directorial boasts of an ensemble cast including Anushka Shetty, Trisha Krishnan, Arun Vijay and Vivek among others. The film's cinematography is handled by Dan MacArthur and editing is done by Anthony.

Vikram's "I" is set to hit the screens for Pongal festival. The film carries lot of expectations as it is a Shankar directorial. The director is known for making films with grandeur and the "I" teaser and trailer indicate that it will be a visual treat.

This is the second time that Vikram has teamed up with Shankar after the success of their 2006-release "Anniyan." The actor's looks in "I" have piqued the interest of the audience. Whether the film's content will impress the audience is something one needs to wait and watch.

The Shankar directorial is touted to be an action thriller flick. Vikram and Amy Jackson play the lead roles, while Suresh Gopi and Upen Patel are also part of the cast. The film's cinematography is handled by PC Sreeram and editing is done by Llewellyn Anthony Gonsalves.
