It was released Feb. 5 and became an instant hit among Vijay fans. In less than 24 hours, the video had crossed the 20-crore mark. It saw amassed over 50 lakh hits in four days.
Now, fans of Vijay are hoping the teaser reaches the 1-crore mark soon. If the video clip reaches the mark, it will be the second Kollywood film to have achieved this feat after Vikram's "I."
However, the biggest highlight of its success story is the video has become the most-liked teaser in Kollywood. The previous best was 1.4 lakh, set by the teaser of Ajith's "Vedalam", which had also received close to 64,000 "thumbs down" on its official YouTube page.
So far, "Theri" teaser has garnered 2.75 lakh "likes" and above 51,000 "dislikes".
"Theri" has Samantha and Amy Jackson as the female leads. The film has been written and directed by Atlee Kumar and bankrolled by Kalaipuli S Dhanu. J Mahendran plays the role of a baddie in it, with Prabhu, Raadhika Sarathkumar, Santhanam, Rajendran and others in the cast.
Samantha completes dubbing
Samantha has completed the dubbing for her portions in "Theri." The actress confirmed the news on her Twitter account, posting: "Dubbing over #Theri .Thankyou my amazing director @Atlee_dir for a role close to my heart.So much love@Jagadishbliss. (sic)"
On the other hand, the makers of "Theri" are planning the music launch of the film. The audio will be reportedly launched March 27. Currently, music director GV Prakash is busy composing its background music. He tweeted: "After #rajarani now sitting with Atlee for #theri BG ... Will be an energetic score .. #theriscore. (sic)"
