There are many directors in the race to team up with Vijay for his 61st movie. The actor, who is currently working in Bharathan's film, has reportedly met with many directors in the recent months and Ilayathalapathy has not approved any script yet. Now, the "Velayudham" star seems to have made his mind on his next.

The buzz is that Vijay has given his consent to work with Atlee Kumar again after collaborating with him in "Theri." It may be recalled that the reports of the duo teaming up again when they were working on their first project. It was speculated that the director had impressed the actor with his script and the proposed project would be a sequel to "Theri," which was produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu.

Now, it is believed that they have finally sealed the deal and the producer will make a formal announcement about the film soon. In the recent months, there were reports that directors like Sundar C, AR Murugadoss and SJ Suryah had approached the "GhillI" star. 

Meanwhile, Vijay's "Theri" has completed its 100-day run in theatres on Friday, July 22. The movie was released on April 14 and it is reaching the milestone in a couple of cinema halls in Tamil Nadu.

"Theri" is the biggest Tamil hit at the box office so far this year. The film has earned good profits for the producer, distributors and exhibitors. The movie has grossed over Rs. 150 crore worldwide.

The movie has Samantha and Amy Jackson as the female leads. Mahendran plays the antagonist in the Tamil film. The movie, which has KS Ravikumar, Raadhikaa Sarathkumar, Rajendran, Kaali Venkat and TM Karthik and others in the cast, is a revenge drama in which Vijay plays the role of a cop.
