Even as Vijay is yet to complete his current project "Kaththi", and start his next film ("Vijay 58"), buzz surrounding his 59th film has already started doing the rounds.
On Tuesday, reports emerged that Vijay will be teaming up with director Atlee of "Raja Rani" fame for a new project. The film will reportedly be produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu, who had funded Vijay's blockbuster flick "Thuppakki."
"Leading producer #KalaipuliThanu is going to do #IlayathalapathyVijay's next film (after Chimbudevan) which will be directed by @Atlee_dir," Entertainment Industry Tracker Sreedhar Pillai had tweeted.
Latest buzz is that Nayanthara might be playing the female lead opposite Vijay in the Atlee directorial. Nayanthara is said to be the front runner to play the heroine role in the film, according to Indiaglitz.
The actress, who made a comeback with Atlee's "Raja Rani," has been on a roll with back-to-back film offers. She is busy with a few projects including that of Suriya-Venkat Prabhu's "Masss." If she is roped in for "Vijay 59," it will be her second film with the actor after the 2009-release "Villu."
There are also speculations that music composer G.V. Prakash will be composing the songs for "Vijay 59." The film is expected to go on floors after Ilayathalapathy completes "Vijay 58," to be directed by Chimbudevan. However, an official announcement regarding the project is still awaited.
Presently, Vijay is busy shooting for Murugadoss' "Kaththi", which will be wrapped soon. The film, touted to be an action thriller, is slated to hit the screens for Diwali. Vijay will be playing dual characters in the film, while Samantha, Neil Nitin Mukesh and comedian Sathish appear in pivotal roles.
After "Kaththi," Vijay will begin shooting for the untitled Chimbudevan project. The film, deemed as a fantasy entertainer, will reportedly be made with a huge budget of around ₹90 crore. PT Selvakumar, Vijay's long-time associate, and Shibu of Thameens Films will be producing the big-budget entertainer.
The shooting of "Vijay 58" is expected to commence in October in Kerala. It will reportedly be shot in never seen before locations across India.
Popular visual effects and animation company Makuta VFX, which had worked for "Naan Ee" and "Magadheera" will be taking care of the VFX work for "Vijay 58," reported OnlyKollywood.
The film will have Shruti Haasan playing the female lead, while Sridevi, Sudeep and Hansika Motwani are also part of the cast. The music for the Vijay starrer will be composed by Devi Sri Prasad.
