A heartwarming reunion between Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor Vijay and actor-racer Ajith Kumar at the Silverstone Racing Circuit in the UK has taken social media by storm.

Vijay was seen walking towards Ajith with his arms open before the two shared a warm embrace at the iconic racing circuit. The video of their reunion quickly went viral, with fans celebrating the rare and emotional moment between two of Tamil cinema's biggest stars.

The meeting took place ahead of Ajith's participation in the Michelin Le Mans Cup race at Silverstone. Vijay travelled to the UK to support Ajith and was also invited to ceremonially flag off the race. Ajith personally welcomed Vijay at the venue and later expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for taking time out of his busy schedule to attend the event.

The two actors have been colleagues in the Tamil film industry for more than three decades. Their reunion was particularly significant for fans as Vijay and Ajith have often been portrayed as rivals in Tamil cinema, with their respective fan bases involved in intense debates and fan wars over the years. Their warm interaction at Silverstone, however, offered a different picture of their equation and was widely celebrated online as a gesture of mutual respect and camaraderie.

Vijay officially flagged off the Michelin Le Mans Cup race at Silverstone, where Ajith competed with his team, Ajith RedAnt by Virage. The event also saw actress Trisha Krishnan in attendance, adding further star power to the occasion.

Trisha was seen arriving at the Silverstone circuit in a casual outfit comprising jeans, a T-shirt and a maroon jacket before heading inside the venue. Videos from the event also showed her watching the race alongside Vijay and Minister Aadhav Arjuna.

Before travelling to Silverstone, Trisha was spotted with veteran actor Radhika Sarathkumar in London. Radhika, who was also in the UK to support Ajith at his racing event, shared a selfie with Trisha on social media.

Vijay and Trisha's long association

Vijay and Trisha share a long professional association and have worked together in several popular Tamil films. Their first collaboration was Ghilli, directed by Dharani, in 2004. They later appeared together in Thirupaachi, Aathi, Kuruvi and Leo.

Their repeated appearances together have often attracted attention from fans and led to speculation about their relationship. However, neither Vijay nor Trisha has publicly confirmed the rumours.

Trisha was also among the guests at Vijay's swearing-in ceremony as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister in May 2026. She was seen interacting with his family at the event and later greeted Vijay's mother, Shoba Chandrasekhar.

Meanwhile, Ajith's Silverstone racing appearance brought together several familiar faces from Tamil cinema. The presence of Vijay and Trisha, along with the warm interaction between Vijay and Ajith, turned the motorsport event into a major talking point among Tamil cinema fans.

The emotional hug quickly became the highlight of the event, with fans describing the reunion as a special moment for Tamil cinema. Many also viewed it as a symbolic gesture that could help put years of fan rivalry into perspective.

The visuals from Silverstone have since sparked widespread reactions online, with fans celebrating the reunion of the three stars at the high-profile racing event. The occasion ultimately brought together friendship, sportsmanship and Tamil cinema on an international stage.
