Popular consumer electronics manufacturer, Videocon, released a budget Android phone A42 in India on Tuesday.

Videocon A42 sports a FWVGA touch-screen with 480x854p display resolution and ships with Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS out-of-the-box. It packs a dual-core processor which can clock close to 1.2GHz CPU speed, has 512MB RAM and 4GB inbuilt memory (expandable up to 32GB via microSD card).

The device flaunts a pretty decent 5.0-megapixel camera with flash support on the rear side. On the front, it houses a 1.3-megapixel secondary camera.

Other noteworthy features include a 1700 mAh Li-Ion battery, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP support.

Just a few weeks ago, the company had launched a sub-₹5,000 2G smartphone Videocon A24. It too boasted of a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android v4.2 Jelly Bean OS.
