An injury time equaliser from Daley Blind helped Manchester United record a dramatic 1-1 draw against West Ham United in the Premier League at Upton Park

Cheikhou Kouyaté put the Hammers ahead in the early stages of the second half, but his strike did not prove to be enough as Blind rescued a point for United by netting the equaliser in the dying minutes of the match.

The game started with United nearly going in front in the 8th minute as a poor pass from Alex Song was intercepted by Robin van Persie. But before the Dutchman could make the most of the opportunity, he was dispossessed by James Tomkins.

Five minutes later, at the other end, David De Gea was called into action as he parried away a 25-yard drive from Enner Valencia. The Spain goalkeeper was needed again as he made an acrobatic save to keep out a close range effort from Valencia.

De Gea again came to United's rescue in the 31st minute as he kept out a good header from Tomkins following a free-kick.

The Hammers' continued attacks eventually bore fruit as they finally took the lead through Kouyate right after the halftime break.

Mark Noble's lofted freekick could not be cleared by Phil Jones and Wayne Rooney, and this allowed Kouyate to control the ball and fire home past De Gea from close range.

Radamel Falcao got a very good chance to level the scores after being played through on goal by van Persie in the 78th minute, but the Colombian was not able to keep his cool as he slashed his effort wide.

A couple of minutes later, United got another chance to equalise when a beautiful squared ball from Falcao found van Persie inside the box. The Dutchman fired a low effort towards the bottom corner, but his shot was brilliantly kept out by Adrian.

At the other end, the hosts had an excellent opportunity to put the game to bed in the 87th minute through Noble, but the midfielder was denied by De Gea, who made another brilliant save to keep his side in the game.

Finally, with defeat looking inevitable for United, Blind came to their rescue as he grabbed the equaliser in the second minute of added time. Marcos Rojo's long delivery into the box was nodded on by Marouane Fellaini towards Blind, who slotted the ball past Adrian from the volley.

The night, however, did not end well for the Red Devils as Luke Shaw was sent off after being shown a second yellow card for fouling Stewart Downing.
