A video has been posted online that shows a cat clinging on to a plane wing for dear life as an ultra-light aircraft flies hundreds of feet above the ground.

YouTube user Romain Jantot, who is believed to be the pilot in the video, can be seen flying the aircraft with a passenger by his side, when he suddenly notices a cat clinging on the metal frame of the planes left wing.

After noticing the feline stowaway aboard the aircraft, he decides to land the plane, before checking to see if the cat is okay. The incident is believed to have taken place at a flying club in Kourou, French Guiana.

In the comments beneath the video Jantot states that the cat is fine and will continue to be the flying clubs mascot:

A routine baptism until ... the importance of looking into the wings before each flight.
FYI the cat is fine, it continues with its implementation club mascot role at club ULM 16-34 Kourou, French Guiana A standard flight until ... i still do not know if it got in after the pre-flight check or if I missed it. The cat is doing well, she is still our mascot.

The video has gone viral on YouTube since being posted on 21 June, racking up over 100,000 views.
