In a nine-minute spell, Arsenal tore Lyon apart to cruise to a 6-0 victory in their Emirates Cup 2015 match.

Arsenal showed they have that va va voom going in full power in an attacking sense, with Olivier Giroud, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Alex Iwobi, Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla all scoring wonderful goals to help the home team to a Saturday afternoon stroll at the Emirates Stadium.

In front of a full crowd, Arsenal took their time to get into their attacking groove, but once they did, boy was it worth the price of the ticket.

The first goal, scored in the 29th minute, was a bit of a shoulder from Giroud, who guided the ball into the corner of the net via a peach of a freekick from the assist-king who goes by the name of Mesut Ozil.

Five minutes later and it was 2-0 as Arsenal went on a lightning counter-attack. Aaron Ramsey started the move, powering through central midfield, before laying on a pass for Giroud. The Frenchman waited for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to make a run ahead of him down the right channel, then played a perfectly weighted ball for the Englishman to apply a perfect finish across the goalkeeper.

A minute from the second goal, and Arsenal had a third as another brilliant move was finished off by Iwobi, lashing the ball into the top corner from an acute angle.

Iwobi could have had a second soon after, but his goal was ruled out for offside, before Ramsey made it 4-0 on 38 minutes, placing the ball brilliantly into the near corner with the outside of his right boot off a perfect pickout from Ozil.

The match would stay 4-0 at halftime, before Ozil got on the scoresheet just beyond the hour, thumping the ball into the corner with his left boot after some good play from Ramsey and Giroud.

Santi Cazorla, Chuba Akpom, who scored a hat-trick against a Singapore Select XI in the Barclays Asia Tour 2015, and Mikel Arteta would come on for the final half hour or so, with the match petering out a bit towards the end as Arsenal took their foot off the gas, before the little Spaniard produced a moment of magic, ripping a low freekick into the bottom corner.

Lyon only had a couple of decent chances all game, with Clinton N'Jie forcing a good save off Emiliano Martinez, who was the goalkeeper for this game, meaning Petr Cech will probably play against Wolfsburg tomorrow, early in the first half, while Alexandre Lacazette, the man who has been linked with a move to Arsenal this summer, did the same just before halftime.
