"Vedalam" has continued to perform well at the box office in Tamil Nadu, despite rains, once again proving that Ajith is the King of collection centres specially during the opening weekend.

After record-breaking opening, "Vedalam" has remained strong at the box office. The movie raked in Rs 15.5 crore on the first day and broke all the existing records of Rajinikanth's "Lingaa", which had earned Rs 12.8 crore, and Ilayathalapathy Vijay's "Kaththi", which grossed Rs 12.5 crore on the release day.

On the second day, "Vedalam" approximately earned Rs 10 crore to take its two days tally to Rs 25.5 crore. The Tamil movie has minted Rs 11.3 crore to take its totally tally to Rs 36.8 crore. However, this is a predicted number and the exact figure is yet to be announced.

Not just in Tamil Nadu, the movie is doing exceptionally well in other centres as well. "Vedalam" has done well in Bengaluru and the overall response in Karnataka is good. It is the same in Kerala, where Ajith has a good fan following. As per a report, the film has raked in Rs 3.45 crore in God's Own Country.

At overseas centres, "Vedalam" has done impressive business in the UK and USA. In the US, it has collected Rs 1.53 crore and the Tamil movie has minted Rs 55.6 lakh in the UK till 12 November.

"Vedalam" is an action entertainer written and directed by Siruthai Siva. Shruthi Haasan plays the female lead role in the movie, which also has Lakshmi Menon, Kabir Duhan Singh and Rahul Dev.
