"The Vampire Diaries" actor, Ian Somerhalder is dating Nikki Reed as per the recent reports. He was recently seen in a PDA with his long time friend and now alleged girlfriend Reed.

The duo was seen getting intimate at the Studio Farmers City Market on Sunday. Somerhalder was spotted nuzzling Reed's neck with a coy smile. Sadly, the relationship could hurt Somehalder's ex girlfriend Nina Dobrev, as Reed is her friend.

"They (Somehalder and Reed) are really tip toeing into something. They are trying to see if their friendship can be more, but it is at its infancy," a source told Hollywoodlife about Somerhalder and Reed's romance. "They are really taking things slow because they don't want to ruin their friendship, but there are also feelings there between the two."

They reportedly got close to each other even while they were in a relationship with different people. Reed broke-up with McDonald in March 2014 while Dobrev and Somerhalder have been on outs for a long time now.

It is reported that Reed and Somerhalder are keeping hush-hush about their romance.

"They are keeping it very hush hush. Nikki is still dealing with the Paul breakup very hard — and Ian has been there for her. So they are just taking things in stride right now," the source further revealed.

The alleged couple was also seen going on a jog on July 19. They looked much like a couple in love.

Meanwhile, Somerhalder's ex Dobrev recently suggested in an interview that she like to be friendly with everyone and has no negativity towards anyone, including his ex.

"I don't like any kind of negativity. I try to be good to everyone, whether it's a love, a friend, an ex," Dobrev told August 2014 issue of Nylon. "I'll always try to treat people the way I want to be treated."

Dobrev even suggested in the interview that she does not like being famous and stayed true to herself.

"I always get uncomfortable when people know more about me than I know about them. It doesn't feel real because I don't live in that world," Dobrev said to the magazine "When I go to those [red carpet] events, I'm in town specifically for that, and then I leave later that night. I've maybe stayed for the after party once, ever. It still feels like I'm a fan, in a way. A lot of people are very cynical and very jaded, but I'm not there yet."
