Things haven't been going well for Stefan and Caroline ever since the Heretics came to town. And from the look of things, their relationship might be coming to an end in the upcoming episode titled "I Would For You."

The previous episode saw Caroline being reluctant to part ways with the babies, and this could be one of the main factors that cause a rift between Stefan and Caroline. This could prompt Caroline to move in with Alaric and become actively involved in the raising of the future of the Gemini coven.

The synopsis for "I Would For You" also noted the possibility of Stefan and Caroline parting ways, stating "a conversation with Caroline leaves Stefan questioning their future together." This will result in Stefan spending more time with Valerie. "I Would For You" will see the former lovers searching for a magical herb that could keep Stefan from being found by Rayna.

Elsewhere in the episode, viewers will see Damon deciding to take care of the Rayna problem himself, which has all the indications of a suicide mission. But things would go awry when Bonnie learns a surprising news about Rayna.

A promo for the episode has Damon saying he is not a good brother when he's not with Elena, and Stefan urging him to reconsider his decision as the younger Salvatore brother has sacrificed everyone and everything for Damon.

Friday's episode will act as a closing chapter for the present plot lines, and will finally explain the reason why Caroline hates Stefan. The episode might also reveal what happened to Nora and Mary Lou.

Matt decides it may be time to truly take a stand against the vampires of Mystic Falls. Finally, as the season's middle chapter draws to a close, Damon's desire to take himself out of the game ramps up as he races to complete unfinished business with Stefan and Bonnie.

"The Vampire Diaries" is aired Fridays on the CW.
