"Vai Raja Vai" director Aishwarya R Dhanush, is on cloud nine as her movie is already declared hit. The film, which stars Gautham Karthik and Priya Anand in the lead, was released on 1 May and has managed to have a good run across the world.

The thriller movie has reportedly collected ₹5 crore in Tamil Nadu on its opening weekend. Industry analyst says that the absence of Kamal Hassan movie on 1-2 May has helped the makers bag some extra cash.

Meanwhile, the film has also got positive reviews from the audience and critics alike. The fast-paced movie has managed to impress the viewers with its comic elements. Dhanush's cameo role as "Kokki Kumar" in the climax is also rated well.

After the release of the movie, director Aishwarya was in fact flooded with congratulatory messages through Twitter and phone calls. The director has now taken time out from her busy schedule and thanked everyone who has extended support to her and her venture.

In a Twitter message, the "Vai Raja Vai" director thanked the cast and crew of her film. She also extended special thanks to Rajinikanth and Dhanush, whom she says "make meaning to her existence."

Meanwhile, "Vai Raja Vai", which did not find space in theatres in Kerala and Karnataka, will now release in these states on 8 May. The makers expect that the positive reviews will help the flick in getting good theatre occupancy in the neighbouring states.

The music of "Vai Raja Vai" is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, while the cinematography is handled by Velraj and editing by VT Vijayan.
