At least nine people were killed and 18 others injured after a high tension electric wire fell on top of a roadways bus near a national highway in the Etah district of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.

The local police rushed to the spot on receiving information about the incident. The injured, who received severe burns, were immediately taken to a local hospital for treatment.
