Gorakhpur, Sept 1 (ANI): Gorakhpur is situated in the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh. The city named after the medieval saint Gorakshanath, has been home to many saints of different communities. Today, it is known for religious tolerance and harmony between different communities that live here. The annual Urs or death anniversary of Mubarak Khan Shahid exemplifies this spirit of communal harmony. This is reflected in good relations between Hindu and Muslim devotees who come to the mausoleum to pay obeisance to the Sufi saint in large numbers from across India. Devotees throng the shrine with utmost devotion. Many believe that their prayers are answered here. The message of harmony comes out loud and clear from this shrine. And it simply reaffirms the fact that amity between different communities has been a way of life in India since ages and it will continue to strengthen the social fabric in times to come as well.
