Upendra and Kiccha Sudeep are likely to attend the celebrity-studded cricket tournament being organised by the Nadigar Sangam in Chennai April 17. Members of the organisation, which is also known as the South Indian Film Artistes Association (SIFAA), recently met the Kannada actors to invite them for the event, reports Bangalore Mirror.

The Kannada actors, who are working in "Mukunda Murari," are currently on a break and hence, likely to attend the event. While Kiccha is keeping himself free after completing the talkie portion of his upcoming flick, Uppi is on a holiday with his family, the report adds. Apart from them, many other celebrities from Sandalwood have been invited.

Organisers were keen to invite the two actors since both of them are famous in Kollywood. While Upendra has done a Tamil movie "Sathyam," Sudeep became a household name with "Naan Ee," the Tamil version of the Telugu blockbuster "Eega." He was also seen in "Puli" last year and is now acting in KS Ravikumar's bilingual film, "Mudinja Ivana Pudi."

The upcoming event, which will be held April 17 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, is organised by Nadigar Sangam to raise funds for constructing its new building. Stars of the Tamil film industry, including Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, are expected to be in full attendance.

The cricket tournament is also likely to be graced by big names from other film industries. Amitabh Bachchan from Bollywood and Chiranjeevi from Kollywood will probably be part of the inaugural function on the same day.

The event will feature eight teams led by Suriya, Karthi, Jiva, Jayam Ravi, Arya, Sivakarthikeyan, Vijay Sethupathi and Vishal. The names of the teams are Madurai College, Chennai Singams, Nellai Dragons, Thanjai Warriors, Trichy Tigers, Ramnad Rhinos, Kovai Kings and Salem Cheetahs.
