Volkswagen's Vento is likely to get updated in India soon. A fresh batch of spy shots of the model showing the newly updated features like the LED headlight have started doing the rounds on the internet, suggesting that the launch could happen anytime soon.

The latest spy shots come from a Team BHP forum member, who spotted the new Vento in Maharashtra alongside Ameo TSI. From the images, the new Vento looks the same as the current model in the market, except for the newly updated LED headlight and the new alloy design. Volkswagen is expected to launch the new Vento during the festive season this year.

It is being said that the new Vento could be placed above the Highline variant. Under the hood, the new Vento is likely to get the same 1.5-litre diesel engine, 1.2-litre TSI and 1.6-litre MPI engines. Volkswagen is also said to be planning to roll out the updated versions of Polo hatchback in India soon.

The company is also likely to equip its models in the country with the updated 1.5-litre diesel engine. The updated version of the four-cylinder 1.5-litre TDI diesel engine would make 108bhp of power. The current 1.5-litre TDI diesel engine that powers the models like the Polo, Vento and Skoda Rapid can churn out 103bhp of power and 230Nm of torque.

Volkswagen Vento takes on the likes of Honda City, Maruti Ciaz and Hyundai Verna 4S.
