A video of an object claimed to be an unidentified flying object (UFO) that was seen by the International Space Station (ISS) has hit the internet. The video showing a large cylindrical object moving towards the earth's surface has turned out to be a hoax.
The three-minute, 30-second clip titled "Amazing GIANT UFO Near The International Space Station, March 2013 HD" was uploaded on YouTube on 9 March. The video, uploaded by a person who reportedly claimed that it was taken from NASA's ISS live video streaming, showed the bright cylindrical object flying at the same pace as Earth's movement. The video is taken from live ISS stream provided by NASA on 7 March. But an extract of the video was edited showing an object moving along with Earth.
"Live video from the International Space Station includes internal views when the crew is on-duty and Earth views at other times. The video is accompanied by audio of conversations between the crew and Mission Control. This video is only available when the space station is in contact with the ground," read the post on the original ISS video from where the edited version was extracted.
