A strange light was captured on the night of 16 February in the Mississippi woods, when Edith and Rainer Shattles set up infrared cameras in the forest in the hope of capturing some sights of bucks and fawns.

The 30-minute video footage turned out to be an exciting one with the mysterious light that appeared like an alien or an Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) hovering on the clear winter night sky above the Cumbest Bluff, a remote region of the state bordering Alabama. The object is later seen flying away.

The footage shot between 7.24p.m and 7.56p.m shows a dim light appearing out of the darkness, gradually growing brighter and turning into a mysterious shape in the sky. Another beam of light like that of a laser, focused on one of the animals, Shattles explained.

"We have unusual things happen around here that happen, but it's usually associated with our grandchildren. But this case, we didn't know what it was. I was looking for a nice buck to be showing up on the trail camera actually." WLOX quoted Edith.

"Well at first, I was trying to see if it was something or a reason for what we were seeing. But the more we looked at it, the more we realized that it was something that was in the air, it was something that I had never seen before," he added.

The duo claiming the sight was bit of fun are also skeptical as to what the object might have been.  They are now trying to solve the mystery with the help of their friends.

"Well, if it's alien, I'm not sure about that. But it's definitely a UFO. Now whether it's a government drone or what, I wish if nothing else, one of them would step up and say. Yes, that's ours. It's a puzzle that may never be solved and it's one that's kind of fun, adds a little flavor to life, I guess you could say," said Rainer.
